Research
There have been several published peer-reviewed studies looking at the use of homeopathy. The following are a small selection:
- In a study published in the Lancet, patients with allergic asthma showed a 77% improvement of symptoms when treated with homeopathic house-dust mite as against 33% in the placebo group. (Reilly et al. Lancet. 1994: 344 (8937): 1601-6).
- A randomised, double-blind placebo study into homeopathic treatment for children with acute earache (otitis media), found that homeopathic therapy significantly and rapidly reduced symptoms of illness when compared to the placebo group. (Jacobs et al. Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal. 2001; 20(2).
- In a six-year observational study of 6544 patients with chronic disease in an outpatient setting in Bristol, it was found that homeopathic therapy offered positive health changes to a substantial proportion of patients. (Spence, D.S. et al. Journal of Alternative & Complementary Medicine. 2005; 11(5).
